See, that part I don't know if he did test the waters. I'm not really sure of that. And I was in law
school at the time, so that was a very -1 mean, my life was just six days a week of studying. I
didn't have time for anything else.
Right, right. Certainly had he run for President, he would have had to do a lot offundraising,
even in those days, I imagine.
Yes. Oh, absolutely, yes. I don't know if that was the stumbling block. I don't know - who was
on the scene then? Carter ran in '76, so we would have been talking about gearing up for '72.
Who was President before?
Nixon.
