Description	Philip Cheek (b. 1841) wrote this 220-page book about Company A of the 6th Wisconsin Infantry, known as the Sauk County Riflemen. He describes their actions from being mustered in July 1861 until their warm reception upon returning to Baraboo at the war’s end. Cheek describes the battles of Gainesville, Second Bull Run, South Mountain, Gettysburg, Antietam, and Laurel Hill in gruesome detail. The book lists all the officers, enlisted men, recruits and drafted men from each company of the regiment.
