The Harvester World
of engines in the neighborhood—of every size—and my son, F. A. Sicher, has said to these men that if their engines get out of order they should let him know and he will fix them. He sold an 8-h. p. engine for S. M. Kauffman that was placed in less than one day with Mr. Moll, of Maxatawny. The Company has treated us right so far and we have to help them along. He is trying to get a few prospects for automobiles. He is a great worker for the 1 H C. His address is the same as mine. GIVING TIM THE FACTS A letter from C. M. Woodard, Ryegate, Mont., to Tim Muixowney, I H C Traveler " I have something to tell you that will interest you. The other day, we had our fire engine house to move. There was a engine here just unloaded from the car; the man that was with it took the job to move the building to where the board wanted it. He hooked on to it and moved it about ten rods, where he got stuck and left it. There ha]ii)ened to be one of your I H C Moguls in the town, and the board got the man that had charge of it to attach it to the building which is HIGH AND LOW SPEED Here is a picture of the race between the hare and the tortoise, with the tortoise in the lead. This picture was taken in Brockville, Ont., in Auguot, on the occasion of the delivery of the 15-h. p. tractor Tractor owned by Seeley & Mosher. Roadster owned by J. McConlcey, of the Ottawa agency to Messrs. S. Seeley and J. Mosher. Mr. Seeley is the gentleman standing beside the tractor. The 1 H C roadster in the picture is owned by J. S. McConkey, our blockman at Brockville, who is at the wheel. Our repair man, S. J. Pink, is beside him. I H C Auto Wagon carrying Telephone Girls in parade. The car is owned by the Passumpsic Telephone Co. 16 X 24 in size—and well, you ought to have been here. Your Mr. Mogul tightened out the chain, and you ought to have seen it go. It went all through the vil¬ lage, up the streets and down the alleys and througli the back lots; we thought it was running away. Well, sir, there was nothing to it. So much for the Mogul. " You will excuse me for taking the liberty to let you know about it. With best regards from j'our friend from Pewaukee." THE HARVESTER CLUB OF WEYBURN The employes of the Weyburn, Sask., organization have formed an athletic association to be known here¬ after as the Harvester Club of Weyburn. They have leased a building and installed pool tables, piano and gymnasium. They expect at an early date to have shower baths. The above clubrooms were opened on Friday, May 3, with a dance at which about forty couples spent a most enjoyable evening. The boys have entered a team in the City Baseball league and won their first league game on Saturday, May 11. They are confident of having the champion¬ ship cup transferred to the club room decorations at the end of the baseball season. An invitation is hereby extended to other agencies to pay us a visit. THE CHICAGO HARVESTER CLUB By W. S. Hubbard, Chairman, Outdoor Sports Committee The Harvester Club has organized a baseball team and has entered the Mercantile League of Chicago, including the following firms; Morris & Company Schwarzschild & Sulzberger Sprague, Warner & Company C. &E. I. R. R. Co. Goodman Manufacturing Company Western Trunk Line Association Marshall Field & Company The boys have shown considerable enthusiasm this year regarding baseball and receirtly had the good for- turre to beat Morris & Company with a score of 9 to 6. Keller i Turner —International Auto Wagon Dealers —at So. Salem, N. Y. Mr. Keller is in the Roadster and Mr. Turner is in the Auto Wagon The home grounds for the Harvester team will be at Hamilton Park. This park can be reached on the Rock Island in fifteen minutes and any one spending the afternoon at one of these games will be fully repaid, as the present team is developing aud I am sure that before the season is over we will be proud of them.

Description | Harvester World magazine was first published by International Harvester Company in October of 1909. From 1909 to 1946, Harvester World functioned primarily as an employee magazine, carrying news from various factories, branch houses and dealerships around the world. The magazine included biographical sketches of employees; notices of retirements and promotions; announcements regarding new company initiatives or building projects; and a variety of other news relating to nearly every facet of the company’s world wide operations. The magazine was published by the company’s Advertising Department, and also functioned as a way for headquarters to communicate with dealerships. In 1946, the magazine was redesigned and eventually shifted from an employee magazine to a more customer-oriented focus. By the 1950s, most Harvester Articles were human interest stories centering on the people and organizations who used International Harvester products. At the same time, photography became an increasingly important element in the content and presentation of the magazine. The magazine was discontinued in 1969. |
