Baer, Advertising Department, Cincinnati, Ohio Published on this page is a photograph showing the inactivity near Salvisa, in the Kentucky river valley, in the New Albany district, which followed an under¬ water engagement between One of General Agent Gard¬ ner's forces and a detach¬ ment of the Piscatory tribe. The fighting lasted three days and left only a few of the enemy in the water-filled trenches. Our correspondent in the war zone furnished us with an excellent photograph which is published here¬ with. It shows the general and his staff, which, read¬ ing from left to right, are as follows: Martin E.Walker, Salvisa, Kentucky; S. S. Offutt, General J. L. Gard¬ ner, A. M. Bennett, and C. P. Gordon, all of New Albany, Indiana, the biting was spirited. NEWS FROM A PENSIONER
Published in the York, Pa., Gazette, is an account of the golden wedding celebrated by an International pen¬ sioner and his wife of half a century. Mr. and Mrs. Noah W. Sellers, wlio now reside at .SO North Penn street, York, were married near Green- mount, in Maryland, in 1865. Mr. Sellers was in the field with the sales de¬ partment of the Interna¬ tional Harvester Company before he retired. The York press notice shows the high esteem in which the Sellers are held in their city. The regular initiation for tourists to the Great Salt Lake. Left to right, S. J. Description | Harvester World magazine was first published by International Harvester Company in October of 1909. From 1909 to 1946, Harvester World functioned primarily as an employee magazine, carrying news from various factories, branch houses and dealerships around the world. The magazine included biographical sketches of employees; notices of retirements and promotions; announcements regarding new company initiatives or building projects; and a variety of other news relating to nearly every facet of the company’s world wide operations. The magazine was published by the company’s Advertising Department, and also functioned as a way for headquarters to communicate with dealerships. In 1946, the magazine was redesigned and eventually shifted from an employee magazine to a more customer-oriented focus. By the 1950s, most Harvester Articles were human interest stories centering on the people and organizations who used International Harvester products. At the same time, photography became an increasingly important element in the content and presentation of the magazine. The magazine was discontinued in 1969. |
