Title | Freedom Information Service--WATS reports, September 1964 (Freedom Information Service records, 1962-1979; Historical Society Library Microforms Room, Micro 780, Reel 1, Segment 7) |
Author/Creator | Freedom Information Service |
Folder Description | This folder consists of September 1964 WATS line messages. It includes lots of arrests, bombings, beatings, church burnings, cross burnings, including the big bombings in McComb. What’s new this month is a few African American parents’ attempts to enroll their children in white schools. And what’s unusual about this month’s messages is the background information given about (1) families involved in school integration attempts or (2) the civil rights uses of African American churches that were later burned. A blank Freedom Registration form is on scanned page 93. |
