At a press conference today we were able to announce that we bad reached agreement with the government on all essential aspects of the upcoming action and we NOW HAVE ALL NECESSARY PERMITS. As you know, we had previously reached agreement on all aspects except the route of the mass march. That matter has been settled and we will now march down Pennsylvania Avenue. Now that all permits have been secured, our job is clear: we must build this legal, non-violent action into the most mammoth and significant demonostration against the war ever held. Every citizen in this country who opposed the war must demonstrate his commitment. Mothers and fathers, and their children, GIs and civilians, workers, professionals and students — we must all join together in Washington, D.C. on Nov. 15 to show that there is no "silent majority" — there is only a deep commitment on the part of all sections of the population to the demand for immediate and total withdrawal of all U.S. men and materiel from Vietnam. We simply cannot allow false rumors, transportation problems or anything else to deter us— every one of us and everyone we know -- from being in Washington this weekend. Charter more busses. Set up carpools. Encourage your children (or your parents) to come. This is truly a historic moment for us — let's make the most of it. NEW MOBILIZATION NEEDS MONEY. The financial situation is absolutely critical. We have never been in such desperate need of funds. For months we have been shipping vast quantities of literature to you and others around the country on consignment. You must have been selling it and giving it away -- but very little money has come back to us. WE MUST BE V7IRED MONEY IMMEDIATELY: PAY YOUR BACK BILLS, SEND CONTRIBUTIONS, SEND LOANS (WHICH WILL BE REPAID ;S00N AFTER NOV. 15). LAST.(MINUTE LOGISTICAL INFORMATION BUS AND CAR INFORMATION FOR THE MASS MARCH MEETING OF BUSSES: All busses should enter the area via New York Ave. They will be met at New York Ave. and Bladensberg Rd. by the D.C. Police and our Marshals. A Marshal will board each bus to make preliminary announcements. The D.C. Police will form the busses into convoys. They will proceed along New Y rk Ave. to 3rd St. to the area of Independence or Jefferson Ave. The busses will stop somewhere between the Capitol and Lincoln Memorial. All busses not arriving via New York Ave. should proceed directly to Independence Ave. where they will be unloaded.
