Now it's becoming more and more corimon for the so- called "underground" newspapers to be floating around most military bases. Why? Well, it's because times are-a-changing, that's why. We want to and we shall present our views not only to our brothers and sisters but also to the listening public. Actually, times haven't changed as much as people have. And people are what it's all about. Today people are getting it together. They're thinking for themselves; they're no longer following blindly in the footsteps of tradition. Like during W.W.II, whentold to go out and kill for the U.S. almost all the guys went without questioning. All their "leaders" had to do was wave the flag and shout " It's all for Horn's ap;le pie" , and perhaps they would throw in, " God's on our side." Well, because people are-a- changing, and thank God for that, we are all waking up and taking action. No longer do our brothers charge off into the jungles of Vietnam at the mere whim of their lieutenants and captains. Kore and more are refusing to go into combat or on any combat nissions. We are not going to let our air and water become poisoned just because some of our government together with some large industries are ripping off the American people and the people of the world like never before. We cannot support a President who continiously defies the views and wishes of the American people. Yes, times and people are-a- changing. We have to change' more. We have to get it togfiTHBR. No matter what our job, we ire in some way connected with the war effort. Just think of it—we all are indirectly responsible for the killing and maiming of thousands of people. I know many of us are dodging the draft so that we wouldn't be directly involved with this conflict; and yet at the same time we didn't want to leave this country. What a conflict we have—as if our souls are in prison—such depressing thoughts heavy in our minds. Now is the time to face this problem. Skip that "Vihen I get out, I'll do this or that" bull. Start now. The past Is gone. The time is now. Never before his this country been core united against our being in Viet Nam than now. Let people who come in contact with you know exactly how you feel. Rap with your brothers and sisters. Let us unite under this cause for peice and brotherhood throughout the world. Humanity is us. And if we are to bring about our true feelings, we must show our peace to all. Extend this feeling to our brothers and sisters everywhere. Let us now bring humanity into our daily lives, and let it spread as a cool, refreshing stream of new i- deals over all. Satisfy your inner self by becoming involved with the "movement." Show dissatisfaction with the fact that you are involved in the wir effort. Show people that you cire and have feeling. ******************************** I was in Navi gator Training School for 6 months: from February 1970 until August, 1970.
