This in itself is significant aa the summer is usually a period of low activity. There is no longer a chapter in Albany, although there mai' oe seme renewed interest there in some level of organising. Potsdam is virtually defunct. Chapters are forming in Syracuse and Northern Hew Jersey, The Fredonia Chapter is planning to get off the ground whan the school year starts. There is virtually no structed v activity in Connecticut or Rhode Island, though contacts are slowly beinj made* NATIONAL PROJECTSi Since the Lswton speaking tour, there has been virtually no support« other than mailings to prisoners and active duty service people, on the Regional level. Chapter level support was covered in chapter reports!] NSCK PLANNING« This is proceeding slightly behind schedule, itoai Housing is pretty much taken care 045 and food is being organised. We have run into snags finding a good meeting site, but expect them to be resolved this week. The Buffalo Chapter and the RO should be able to handle all anticipated needs. FINANCES 1 We are approxiamtely 340.00 in the red with no money coming in. This means we have no financial cushion for the NSCM. A fund raising letter sent out before the demos in Washington failed to even pay its costs. This situation should continue - and probably slightly worsen - until late September or so» when we should be able to do some fund-raising activities. SrRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES* Generally the same as before. Due to its naturet end the diversity of the Region» the R0 functions v/ell on formalistic details (mailings, newsletters, resources, etc) but is not in any position to do much Foltical education, direction or organizing. Because of the growth and outreach taking place on local levels, this is not a serious problem at this point.
