MY EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND "I am 39 years old. I attended Elmhurst College (Liberal Arts) in Illinois, and was a 1953 graduate of the University of Oklahoma School of Nursing. Since graduation I have continued active in the field of nursing, both as a general-duty nurse, and a teacher of nursing at Madison General Hospital, Milwaukee County Institutions, and St. Mary's here in Wausau. "Active in various church organizations, I have taught Sunday School for the last five years. I am an active Girl Scout leader, active with the Marathon County Unit of the American Cancer Society, and I served as its president for four years. I am a past vice-president of the American Legion Auxiliary, and am also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary. I have been active in politics, too, in serving for four years as Secretary of the Marathon County Republican Women's Federation." ABOUT THIS PICTURE ^ "Seated with me is my husband Norm and his mother. The children are Scott, Beth and Becky." "Many people have expressed concern and questioned how my children will be cared for during my absences from home while serving in Madison. Let me sincerely state that with the help of my husband and my mother-in-law who lives with us, our children will be adequately supervised and cared for. I will, of course, be home weekends and when the legislature is not in session. "And speaking of children, mine and yours both, can there be any greater "reasons" of a concerned mother for wanting to speak out and do something to make this a better society for them? I think not!!" Paid Adv: Concerned Citizens for Baguhn, Arno_M. Behrendt, Sec'y-Treas., P. O. Box 834, Wausau, Wis. NOW IT'S THE PEOPLE'S TURN ■ ■ - "In government, as in other fields, a fresh new approach oftentimes will solve the most difficult problem. By electing Dorthea Baguhn to the Assembly, the people of this district will have a well qualified representative with that fresh new approach." Don Wincentsen, Alderman "Dottie Baguhn doesn't sit back and complain . . . She's a do-er. The voters of this district have a unique opportunity to have a voice in Madison that will be articulate, productive but yet concerned for and sympathetic to all groups." Sue Flynn, Registered Nurse "As a nurse, Cancer Society Worker, Girl Scout leader, Sunday School teacher and a person active in her community, Mrs. Dorthea Baguhn has shown herself to be a humanitarian concerned with her neighbor. She will continue this concern as your representative in Madison." Rev. Paul Eggold, Pastor "In our family, we don't let our expenses go over my husband's income and I think government should try to do the same. As a taxpayer I'm tired of spend — spend ~ tax — tax. I know Dottie Baguhn as our Assemblywoman will say NO! to the bureaucrats spending requests unless the program is needed and can be reasonably financed. We need her in Madison."
