Christmas and New Years greeting card from Hosea W. Rood, presumably sent to his comrades of the 12th Wisconsin Infantry, Company E, who had been with him at Camp Randall 64 years before. It features a reproduction and description of John Gaddis's sketch ""Old Camp Randall, Madison, Wisconsin."" Original text from Rood: ""Milton, Wisconsin Dec, 10 1925 Dear Comrades--I am sending you for this Holiday Season a reminder of our Christmas and New Years Sixty-four years ago. To some of you this picture will look natural. It was made from a pencil sketch by John Gaddis, Co. E. He sits by a telegraph post just at this edge. The ""Old Twelfth"" is on Dress Parade--tents just at the back of the line. Colonel Bryant stands back in front of the center. At the right the Sixteenth is on drill near their tents. In sending this I am wishing every one of you every possible good thing. May the Lord bless you and keep you. Hosea W. Rood, Co. E.""
