If it proves to be all that its projectors hope for it. other parts of the county will also take it up aijci try it. The raising of cultivated cranberries is referred to. S. .H. Waterman & Son, of Cumber¬ land, have spent much money here in getting started and when the whole work is completed will have over 100 acres uoder cultivation. The average profit per acre from a perfect cran¬ berry marsh is more than $200 per year and has been known to run as high as $1,000. It takes about five years to get an acre Into bearing and the cost Is about the price of one good crop, therefore men without capital can not engage in the business.
