German lesson and to the Lodge in the evening. Mr. Craig came to board here today.
Wednesday 7th
Washed and baked today. Mr. Scofield commenced painting the house. Very tired went up town with Ma in the evening, to get paper for the rooms.
Thursday 8th
At home all day. Minnie Baylor came in in this evening also Mr. & Mrs. Madison.
Friday 9th
We cleaned the parlor today. Got it done and the carpet down before they came to dinner. This evening was the anniversary of the Reference & Atherianum(sp) Societies of the University. I did not go.
Saturday 10th
Fannie & I papered the dining room today. Played Chess in the evening. Mr. Craig & Campbell here.
Sunday 11th
Went to Church. Mr. Mitchell of Rockford, Ill. Preached at the Baptist Church. I liked the sermon very much. It was very warm indeed. Went to sleep in the afternoon and to church in the evening.
Monday 12th
Cleaned house all the forenoon. Went out on a Soliciting Committee for our festival in the afternoon. Spent the evening at Mr. Bradley's.
Tuesday 13th
Went up town this morning. Finished papering the dining room. Went to my German lesson without knowing it. Went to the Lodge in the evening, Mr. Campbell not being there in season and the report of the Festival Committee being called for I was obliged to make the report. Mr. Campbell came afterwards.
