| Description | Herbert V. Buehl of Beloit, Wis. served a year-long tour of duty aboard the U.S.S. Arizona that ended with the ship’s sinking on December 7, 1941, at Pearl Harbor. In this 26-page memoir, Buehl describes the in detail the operation of the battleship and his experiences on it. Beginning on page 14, he recounts the Pearl Harbor attack and how he miraculously escaped death. The final page of biographical notes summarizes his Navy service throughout the war. |
