| Description | Beloit, Wis. native James B. (Buck) Buchanan served as an Aviation Chief Radioman and gunner in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Long afterwards he wrote this eyewitness account of the attack on Pearl Harbor and the destruction of the U.S.S. Arizona as part of a much longer memoir about his service in World War Two and his youth. Buchanan writes quite graphically about the violence of June 7, 1941, and his descriptions may not be suitable for very young readers. |
