He is a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, since Alay, 1903; also of the Nadaway Yacht Club, the AYisconsin Historical Society, the AYisconsin Archeological Society, the National Geographic Society, the Knight Templar. Alarried August 5, 1884, at Neenah, AA^isconsin, to Aliss Florence Josephine AA^right, daughter of Dr. I. H. and Rachel F. AYright, niece of the great evangelist. Rev. Charles G. Finney. Their family is: Harold K., born August 9, 1885; Percy A^"., born Aprd 20, 1887; Lillian E., Alarion P., Donald AY., Kenneth, Helen E. Airs. Florence J. LaAvson is a member of Alenasha Ladies' Study Club, Alenasha Economic Club, and a member of the public library board by appoint¬ ment of the common council. Ole Anderson Lea, a native of NorAvay, was born March 15, 1839, and is a son of Olsen and Ingri (Ellis) Lea, both natives of Nor¬ way. The father, a blacksmith and also a silversmith, followed those occupations in NorAvay, but after coming to this country, in 1854, reaching AVinchester township, in AA'^innebago county, AVisconsin, on July 4, he purchased and settled on a farm of sixty acres, to Avhich he afterAvards added another forty acres. Here he made a home and reared his family, and here passed his life, attaining the age of eighty-seven years. His widoAv, AAdio survived him, lived to be ninety-one years old. Both Avere devoted members of the Lutheran church, and their bodies Avere laid to rest in the cemetery at AVin¬ chester. . Our subject received his schooling in his native land, and came to this country with his parents in 1854. He lived on the family homestead until 1867, and then moved on to a tract of eighty acres, being a part of his present farm of 100 acres, in sections 33 and 34, of AA^inchester township, besides twenty acres of timber land. Mr. Lea is rightly counted one of the thrifty, prosperous and substantial farmers of AVinnebago county, and his farm, Avith its substantial dwelling house, commodious barns and modern improvements and equipments, is recognized as one of the finest in the county. Mr. Lea devotes himself to general farming and dairying, and finding in the quiet and independence of his home and farm life, congenial employment, has never sought or cared for public office.
