Description | Three pairs of white knit cotton stockings featuring broad cuffs embellished with crochet and beading. From left to right, initials "EE" and date 1879 in blue beads; "EPE" and "E 1878" in red beads; and "EE 1878" in green beads. |
History | These stockings descended in the family of maker Elizabeth Ebert and were gifted to the current owner by Ebert's granddaughter. Born in Germany, Ebert settled in Menomonee Falls, Waukesha County, Wisconsin. |
