Pafko was outfielder and third baseman during 17 year career with the Chicago Cubs, Brooklyn Dodgers, and the Braves. Born in Boyceville (Dunn County), Pafko made his major league debut with the Cubs in 1943. He joined the Braves in 1953, and helped them win the 1957 World Series against the New York Yankees.
