Chippewa-Falls, Wisonsin [sic] : county-seat of Chippewa County 1907 / H.W., sk.
Wellge, H. (Henry)
The misspelling of Wisconsin is a rare and embarrassing error in the bird's eye view genre. Chippewa Falls grew with the lumbering industry, and a large farming community developed to suppy the city. Notable sites in this view are the Leinenkugel Brewing Company and the State Home for the Feeble-Minded, established in 1895 and now known as the Northern Wisconisn Center for the Developmentally Disabled.
