Description
This collage of wedding memorabilia includes a bridal veil, a wax flower headpiece and a marriage portrait photograph presented in a carved frame.
History
The records of the Marathon County Historical Society identify the couple in the photograph as "Mr. and Mrs. Gritzmacher of Rib Mountain." According to the donor, the veil was worn by the mother of Dorothy and Irene Warner of Rib Mountain, ca. 1890. The 1930 federal census for Wausau, Marathon County, Wisconsin records Dorothy and Irene Warner as daughters in the household of Herman and Lena Warner, both of whom were born in Wisconsin ca. 1904.
